We really enjoyed our stay at The Gallivant. The room was lovely and clean, the staff welcoming and our dog was made to feel very at home (she particularly enjoyed the treats by the front door!). We loved the breakfast table, the freshly cooked eggs and toast made a refreshing change from the usual hotel fare, and the continental breakfast tray was also delicious.

Another wonderful visit! Lindsay and the entire team always offer excellent friendly service.
We really appreciate being welcomed as returning guests.
For the first time, we had Sunday lunch at Harry's. Every course was delicious. Smoked cod's roe, roast beef with all the trimmings and a sublime praline dessert. We couldn't fault it!
Lovely rooms, dog friendly and we love the style of breakfast offered. So much more interesting than 'full english'

Yet another wonderful stay at the Gallivant. WE are just sorry that we live in Bristol and cannot get there very often. Staff are exceptional and lovely meeting Lindsey and Agnes again. Thank you very much for the room upgrade. As usual the food was excellent.

This was our 4th visit to The Gallivant – and we have loved it so much, we sent my parents there as well!
The setting is spectacular and the service matches that. The food is excellent and the staff are relaxed but attentive and friendly but unobtrusive.
It is for sure our UK home from home.

Had a fantastic stay at the hotel with friends over New Year. Particular shout out to the Head of Happiness ( love that title) Lindsay Austin who was the epitome of a welcoming hostess. The food was excellent. Thank you.

Exceeded expectations, every meal was delicious, staff super friendly, attentive and a wonderful start to 2026. Lindsay was a bundle of energy and fun, she couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Thank you.

We had the most amazing new years stay at the Gallivant and were hugely impressed by the lovely friendly staff, special thanks have to go to Lyndsay for being outstanding in every way! All the staff were superb and all were so friendly and welcoming to us and our flat coat retriever Harry who I think many of them fell in love with!!
We will definitely be back!! Only one thought for the rooms , an espresso machine would be a welcome addition! We loved the rooms and particularly liked the pretty outdoor space you have created !
Also very much enjoyed the yoga this morning!

We’ve stayed in a few different hotels at Christmas over the years and this was our favourite.
The hotel is very well run and the staff were excellent and were keen to ensure that we were happy with everything. Sometimes people working at Christmas don’t look too happy about it but there was no sense of that at all at the Gallivant. Every member of the team was friendly and relaxed.
The food was extremely good and the chef friendly and approachable.
We definitely intend to come back again.
