What are the check in and check out times?
Our check in time is 4pm and check out 11am.
How do I book a class?
When you book to come to stay we will send you an email that will have all the links you need to book everything.
Are dogs allowed at the Gallivant / on the beach?
We are very happy to have dogs up to the size of a Labrador come and stay for £25 / day.
We have a few dog friendly rooms, which need to be requested in advance.
We will have a cosy bed and bowl waiting for them in your bedroom to help them feel comfortable.
Dogs are allowed in the Sitting Room, Bar, Terrace and coastal gardens.
Please note that dogs are not allowed in Harry’s restaurant nor at a dining table in the Bar when dinner is being served.
Where is the nearest station / How long is the train journey from London?
In Rye, 4 miles away. There is a high speed train from London St Pancras every hour. It takes just over an hour, change at Ashford International.
Do your rooms have a sea view?
Our rooms do not have sea views, however our hotel lies just a short walk from the dunes and the beach beyond which stretches as far into the distance.
Do you have a car park; can the car park be used before check-in?
Yes, our carpark is for Gallivant and Harry’s guests only. You are very welcome to come early and have lunch / have a walk on the beach while we make up your room.
Is there anywhere to store luggage?
We have limited storage areas where we can hold bags for a few of hours.
Do you have twin rooms?
No, however 0ur Large Hampton room has a large day bed and our Baby Hampton rooms a smaller one.
Accessibility?
There is wheelchair access to the Dining room, Bar, Snug, Open Space and Terrace. Some of our rooms are more spacious than others and most are accessible step free. The coastal garden has gravel paths. For more details please email us at reservations@maingalli.wonderwebsite.co.uk.
Do all bedrooms have baths?
All the Luxury Garden, Baby Hampton and Large Hampton rooms have a bath as does one of the Garden rooms. If you need any more help please email us at reservations@maingalli.wonderwebsite.co.uk.
How far is Rye? Is it walking distance?
Rye is 4 miles away. 10 mins by car and approximately 50 minutes on foot. It’s a lovely walk along a path and then over the old salt marsh to the town. We can arrange taxis with an hours notice.
Can I get a taxi from the station?
There are local taxis and we’d be delighted to help organise one in advance. If you aren’t sure of your plans give these a call;

Are you child friendly?
The Gallivant is a small hotel that feels more like a private house, created to give all our guests a deep sense of relaxation and comfort.
Because it only takes one high spirited young child to shatter that sense of calm, we decided to welcome everyone over the age of 12.
How many people can stay in my room?
We don’t have any family rooms. All our bedrooms have King or Super King beds and are strictly for 2 adults. The Baby Hampton and Large Hampton rooms have day beds which can be made up for one extra person but this must be confirmed and paid at the time of booking.
