This New Year, make the coast your home. At The Gallivant in East Sussex, our New Year Escape blends calm by the dunes, seasonal food at Harry’s and the spark of midnight fireworks overlooking Camber Sands.

At The Gallivant, New Year’s Eve always feels effortless.

Imagine the tranquility of long walks along our deserted beach, or starting that good book you’ve never quite started. Evenings focus on delicious dinners, with nothing more taxing than choosing which cocktail to start the evening.

Champagne in hand, candlelights flickering, our New Year’s escape has been thoughtfully designed to balance relaxation with moments of celebration, creating memories to carry with you throughout the coming year.

Your New Year’s experience includes:

Upon arrival we’ll welcome you to The Gallivant with a freshly baked cake from the kitchen, before you enjoy a delightful a la carte dinner in Harry’s.

New Year’s Eve Day starts with an early morning wellness class for those inclined before a leisurely Gallivant breakfast to decide the plans for the day.  As the dusk falls, the evening unfolds with champagne, canapés and laughter, accompanied by our brilliant pianist to set the scene.

An exquisite four-course dinner at Harry’s leads into the night’s celebration with coffee and digestifs, fireworks on our terrace, and a midnight champagne toast to ring in the New Year.

New Year’s Day can start with a restorative wellness class for the strong before another a leisurely Gallivant breakfast, giving time to reflect on the night just past and the year ahead and fond farewells.

We’ve attended to every detail to ensure your New Year’s with us will be both restorative and joyful—the perfect beginning to 2027.

Visited The Gallivant on the 18th April and booked to stay for one night. What a lovely Boutique Hotel. As soon as you walk through the doors you get a lovely feeling about the place. We arrived at about 12:30, knowing that we couldn’t check in until 4pm. So enjoyed the free coffee and lovely cookies in the comfortable lounge area. The location right by Camber Beach was just perfect for a wonderful walk and two and half hours later we checked into our very cosy room which was beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable – we had a very good nights sleep. We booked in advance for an evening meal which was very enjoyable in the lovely dining area.

The outside seating area was very welcome following our walk – sitting in the sunshine drinking a G&T was so relaxing – a very nice touch and much enjoyed by the other guests.

All in all a very pleasant stay – thank you The Gallivant for looking after us so well.

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay, which was, in a large part, due to the excellent service we received from everybody at the Gallivant. We really couldn't single anybody out!

What a lovely few days!!! We had a girls trip to The Gallivant to celebrate a 60th birthday and even though the weather was pretty poor we had a fabulous …

What a lovely few days!!! We had a girls trip to The Gallivant to celebrate a 60th birthday and even though the weather was pretty poor we had a fabulous time. The hotel is beautifully decorated with lots of little touches that make it different, the staff are all friendly and efficient, and added lots of little extras that made our trip memorable.
We mentioned that we were going to try and catch the sunset in the sand dunes and that afternoon we found wicker bags in our rooms containing glasses and a complementary voucher for a flask of cocktail at the bar to take with us. We were also given pots of nuts and olives – made our day.
We had massages and took part in a couple of yoga sessions that were all A*, the lady who took the Friday morning yoga was particularly good.
All the meals we had in the restaurant were excellent with great service too.

Would highly recommend this hotel, and will defiantly be going back, maybe with our dog in tow next time.

We had a perfect stay. Everything was so well thought out and all the little details were spot on – Wellies for walks on the beach, blankets for the outdoor area, tea and coffee available all day. We loved the idea of giving guests water bottles for their stay and used ours all the time.

We came to remote work for a couple of days and it was the perfect place to do so – lots of comfy places to work, power outlets etc.

The room was beautiful and super comfy. Yoga classes were great and we thought were pitched at the right level to cater to people of different abilities.

Food and drink was fantastic.

Finally the service from everyone was absolutely second to none. The team seemed genuinely happy and passionate about working there and were always friendly and on hand to help with anything (bringing snacks, booking taxis) etc. nothing was too much trouble and the staff were super attentive while also being discreet and not overbearing.

Overall a wonderful stay!
