This New Year, make the coast your home. At The Gallivant in East Sussex, our New Year Escape blends calm by the dunes, seasonal food at Harry’s and the spark of midnight fireworks overlooking Camber Sands.

At The Gallivant, New Year’s Eve always feels effortless.

Imagine the tranquility of long walks along our deserted beach, or starting that good book you’ve never quite started. Evenings focus on delicious dinners, with nothing more taxing than choosing which cocktail to start the evening.

Champagne in hand, candlelights flickering, our New Year’s escape has been thoughtfully designed to balance relaxation with moments of celebration, creating memories to carry with you throughout the coming year.

Your New Year’s experience includes:

Upon arrival we’ll welcome you to The Gallivant with a freshly baked cake from the kitchen, before you enjoy a delightful a la carte dinner in Harry’s.

New Year’s Eve Day starts with an early morning wellness class for those inclined before a leisurely Gallivant breakfast to decide the plans for the day.  As the dusk falls, the evening unfolds with champagne, canapés and laughter, accompanied by our brilliant pianist to set the scene.

An exquisite four-course dinner at Harry’s leads into the night’s celebration with coffee and digestifs, fireworks on our terrace, and a midnight champagne toast to ring in the New Year.

New Year’s Day can start with a restorative wellness class for the strong before another a leisurely Gallivant breakfast, giving time to reflect on the night just past and the year ahead and fond farewells.

We’ve attended to every detail to ensure your New Year’s with us will be both restorative and joyful—the perfect beginning to 2027.

Wow. The Gallivant is a special place and we loved our stay there. The staff were amazing in making sure that everything was perfect and nothing was too much trouble. A quick word for the food too which is unbelievably good.

We’ve recommended a stay here to everyone we’ve spoken to since and hope to be able to revisit again.

Hi Elise, we really enjoyed our stay, the weather was a lovely bonus so that we could enjoy the beach, your beautiful coastal garden and our garden room to the max! We booked the complete package, so touches like wine at 5 and the elevenses are lovely to have (even though we didn't always partake). The food was delicious, and your team were very knowledgeable about where everything was sourced from and local producers. One guy stood out but I am not sure of his name, he was always in the restaurant, and served the wine on the terrace at 5. English wines were a real hit with us, we absolutely love them anyway, but were recommended Simpsons from Canterbury which we enjoyed very much. The vibe at the Gallivant is beautifully relaxed but elegant, the layout is gorgeous and it is easy to find somewhere to chill out quietly. The terrace for breakfast was a favourite of ours. Beds were super comfy, and we loved all the Bamford goodies. All that aside, the Team really made our stay – friendly and engaging, super helpful and delivering a really high touch service.
