This New Year, make the coast your home. At The Gallivant in East Sussex, our New Year Escape blends calm by the dunes, seasonal food at Harry’s and the spark of midnight fireworks overlooking Camber Sands.

At The Gallivant, New Year’s Eve always feels effortless.

Imagine the tranquility of long walks along our deserted beach, or starting that good book you’ve never quite started. Evenings focus on delicious dinners, with nothing more taxing than choosing which cocktail to start the evening.

Champagne in hand, candlelights flickering, our New Year’s escape has been thoughtfully designed to balance relaxation with moments of celebration, creating memories to carry with you throughout the coming year.

Your New Year’s experience includes:

Upon arrival we’ll welcome you to The Gallivant with a freshly baked cake from the kitchen, before you enjoy a delightful a la carte dinner in Harry’s.

New Year’s Eve Day starts with an early morning wellness class for those inclined before a leisurely Gallivant breakfast to decide the plans for the day.  As the dusk falls, the evening unfolds with champagne, canapés and laughter, accompanied by our brilliant pianist to set the scene.

An exquisite four-course dinner at Harry’s leads into the night’s celebration with coffee and digestifs, fireworks on our terrace, and a midnight champagne toast to ring in the New Year.

New Year’s Day can start with a restorative wellness class for the strong before another a leisurely Gallivant breakfast, giving time to reflect on the night just past and the year ahead and fond farewells.

We’ve attended to every detail to ensure your New Year’s with us will be both restorative and joyful—the perfect beginning to 2027.

The theme of The Gallivant runs throughout the whole hotel, starting with the decor, to the staff, to the booking in/out process: Simple, elegant, practical and relaxed.
The whole hotel is very relaxing, fresh and colourful. The staff are engaging, efficient and informative.
Access to the beach is only 100 metres away, so we went for a walk before Dinner to watch the sunset and again before breakfast, to get woken up !

We had a fantastic time at the Gallivant. It was every bit as good as we'd hoped. The decor was sublime. It managed the beach feel without resorting to cliche'd styling. I've gone home with a few ideas to freshen up our home.

We were most impress with the customer service throughout our stay and particarly Lindsay at front of house. Service was attentive without being overly familiar.

When an establishment is this good it can feel a little over-exclusive and "sniffy" but we felt welcome and at ease throughout our stay. A real home from home.

I was particularly pleased at the quality of the yoga class. These add-ons can often be mediocre at best but this was a high quality class with an excellent yogi. I only wish I were closer and could come regularly.

I don't often write long reviews but you all deserve to hear how happy we were with our visit.

We had an amazing stay, the level of service was so high, all your staff are wonderful and so helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was incredible. We also enjoyed the cosy bar area for tea and cake, our only criticism was not enough of the white chocolate blondies, they were delicious. Cannot fault anything in the room it was gorgeous and lovely and clean. We also loved that there was a selection of boots, towels and coats for guests to wear to the beach, my only comment would be to make guests more aware of this before they come so they don’t overpack like me. We hope to be back soon. Thank you

We had an amazing stay, the level of service was so high, all your staff are wonderful and so helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was incredible.
