This New Year, make the coast your home. At The Gallivant in East Sussex, our New Year Escape blends calm by the dunes, seasonal food at Harry’s and the spark of midnight fireworks overlooking Camber Sands.

At The Gallivant, New Year’s Eve always feels effortless.

Imagine the tranquility of long walks along our deserted beach, or starting that good book you’ve never quite started. Evenings focus on delicious dinners, with nothing more taxing than choosing which cocktail to start the evening.

Champagne in hand, candlelights flickering, our New Year’s escape has been thoughtfully designed to balance relaxation with moments of celebration, creating memories to carry with you throughout the coming year.

Your New Year’s experience includes:

Upon arrival we’ll welcome you to The Gallivant with a freshly baked cake from the kitchen, before you enjoy a delightful a la carte dinner in Harry’s.

New Year’s Eve Day starts with an early morning wellness class for those inclined before a leisurely Gallivant breakfast to decide the plans for the day.  As the dusk falls, the evening unfolds with champagne, canapés and laughter, accompanied by our brilliant pianist to set the scene.

An exquisite four-course dinner at Harry’s leads into the night’s celebration with coffee and digestifs, fireworks on our terrace, and a midnight champagne toast to ring in the New Year.

New Year’s Day can start with a restorative wellness class for the strong before another a leisurely Gallivant breakfast, giving time to reflect on the night just past and the year ahead and fond farewells.

We’ve attended to every detail to ensure your New Year’s with us will be both restorative and joyful—the perfect beginning to 2027.

We had the best time at the Gallivant! We had previously visited the restaurant for lunch and enjoyed such good meal we decided to book a Sunday night stay as a short summer break. We were so well looked after by all the staff and wished we had booked for two nights rather than one. The restaurant team looked after us so well. Joe was an outlier in a team of true professionals, his passion for English wine and great hospitality were on display from the outset and we thoroughly enjoyed his personal approach. We were pleased to be welcomed with the English Wine at 5 and subsequently took advantage of the hotel's 'cocktail in the dunes' offer, where we enjoyed margaritas, made by Jonathon, whilst watching the sunset. The Gallivant is a really special place and we hope to visit again very soon!

The chefs chatted as they went by and their knowledge and craft resulted in some of the best food we have ever eaten. Ditto the wine! See you all again soon, and thank you for having us stay. We enjoyed our stay with the dog in Room 15. It was our first overnight with the dog and we found The Gallivant especially because you offered dog-friendly accommodation. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming, facilities were great and products were high quality and we found the all the staff friendly and helpful from the reception to bar and restaurant members. The price was pricier than we would normally tend to pay but we recognise the value throughout our stay. Thank you.
