This New Year, make the coast your home. At The Gallivant in East Sussex, our New Year Escape blends calm by the dunes, seasonal food at Harry’s and the spark of midnight fireworks overlooking Camber Sands.

At The Gallivant, New Year’s Eve always feels effortless.

Imagine the tranquility of long walks along our deserted beach, or starting that good book you’ve never quite started. Evenings focus on delicious dinners, with nothing more taxing than choosing which cocktail to start the evening.

Champagne in hand, candlelights flickering, our New Year’s escape has been thoughtfully designed to balance relaxation with moments of celebration, creating memories to carry with you throughout the coming year.

Your New Year’s experience includes:

Upon arrival we’ll welcome you to The Gallivant with a freshly baked cake from the kitchen, before you enjoy a delightful a la carte dinner in Harry’s.

New Year’s Eve Day starts with an early morning wellness class for those inclined before a leisurely Gallivant breakfast to decide the plans for the day.  As the dusk falls, the evening unfolds with champagne, canapés and laughter, accompanied by our brilliant pianist to set the scene.

An exquisite four-course dinner at Harry’s leads into the night’s celebration with coffee and digestifs, fireworks on our terrace, and a midnight champagne toast to ring in the New Year.

New Year’s Day can start with a restorative wellness class for the strong before another a leisurely Gallivant breakfast, giving time to reflect on the night just past and the year ahead and fond farewells.

We’ve attended to every detail to ensure your New Year’s with us will be both restorative and joyful—the perfect beginning to 2027.

Another perfect stay at the Gallivant! You feel relaxed the second you walk through the door. Always delicious food, the comfiest beds and the most amazing staff ensure that you can not do anything other than sit back and relax Having the most beautiful beach a minute's stroll from the front door is the icing on the cake.
Special mentions to Dan who took great care of us during this our 4 th stay, Hamish who was charming, Lindsay who is always fab and of course Paul who is just an absolute legend! His enthusiasm and knowledge is second to none and he has time for everyone. Last but not least the chefs who consistently deliver the most delicious and adventurous food.

This was our first stay at the Gallivant and it was superb in every sense. The accommodation and food were excellent as expected and all of the staff were outstanding – very personable and all contributed to a relaxed atmosphere. We actually got engaged during the weekend and they went out of their way to make it a memorable experience for us. It would be unfair to single anybody out but we really enjoyed talking to Paul about the various wines being served. We will be back one day!

Extremely friendly team. Compact but very comfortable rooms (we tried two). The beds, linens and products generous and cosy. Plenty of places to unwind and read or play games. Roaring fire and well stocked bar and attentive staff. Dinner and breakfast delicious, locally sourced and interesting combinations of flavours and textures. Will def come back.
