This New Year, make the coast your home. At The Gallivant in East Sussex, our New Year Escape blends calm by the dunes, seasonal food at Harry’s and the spark of midnight fireworks overlooking Camber Sands.

At The Gallivant, New Year’s Eve always feels effortless.

Imagine the tranquility of long walks along our deserted beach, or starting that good book you’ve never quite started. Evenings focus on delicious dinners, with nothing more taxing than choosing which cocktail to start the evening.

Champagne in hand, candlelights flickering, our New Year’s escape has been thoughtfully designed to balance relaxation with moments of celebration, creating memories to carry with you throughout the coming year.

Your New Year’s experience includes:

Upon arrival we’ll welcome you to The Gallivant with a freshly baked cake from the kitchen, before you enjoy a delightful a la carte dinner in Harry’s.

New Year’s Eve Day starts with an early morning wellness class for those inclined before a leisurely Gallivant breakfast to decide the plans for the day.  As the dusk falls, the evening unfolds with champagne, canapés and laughter, accompanied by our brilliant pianist to set the scene.

An exquisite four-course dinner at Harry’s leads into the night’s celebration with coffee and digestifs, fireworks on our terrace, and a midnight champagne toast to ring in the New Year.

New Year’s Day can start with a restorative wellness class for the strong before another a leisurely Gallivant breakfast, giving time to reflect on the night just past and the year ahead and fond farewells.

We’ve attended to every detail to ensure your New Year’s with us will be both restorative and joyful—the perfect beginning to 2027.

We had the greatest experience at The Gallivant. The service, the food, the attention to detail, the location – all first class. Lindsay was so helpful and sweet she even gave us a ride to the train station when our taxi didn't show. I highly recommend a visit to The Gallivant.

A truly wonderful stay, all staff are brilliant, all very friendly and welcoming and the food is incredible as is the drinks list. particularly like the fact that you support …

A truly wonderful stay, all staff are brilliant, all very friendly and welcoming and the food is incredible as is the drinks list. particularly like the fact that you support local producers. We were surprised and thrilled by the unexpected room upgrade for our 1 night stay – the room was stunning.
The entire team were amazing, particularly Lindsay and Corey who did a great job on the front welcome desk, Frankie, Alesha and all the waiting staff and of course Paul who did a fabulous job of ensuring everything ran smoothly and was so generous in sharing his expert knowledge and enthusiasm for the wines. We rarely go to a hotel more than once as we like to try new places, but for the Gallivant we make an exception -this was our 3rd visit and as always it was a joy, so relaxing.

Everything was impeccable. Food …

Another fantastic couple of days with you. I never thought Camber Sands would be high on my list when it came to needing a relaxing break!
Everything was impeccable. Food is amazing – best steak we have ever had-, wine is really interesting, yoga a great bonus – even got to do beach yoga. We had a garden room this time – would probably go back to Baby Hampton if possible next time but we did get to sit in the garden which was very peaceful.
