The Gallivant, Camber
East Sussex TN31 7RB
A happy Christmas by the sea. Long beach walks, a roaring log fire, long lunches and candlelit dinners at Harry’s.
We all love Christmas. But somewhere around the third reheating of the turkey, and the family row about which channel to watch, we all start dreaming of getting away.
Which is rather the point of the Gallivant over the holiday season.
Pull on your favourite jumper, climb the dunes and walk along our deserted beach till you feel your head switch off. As evening falls Harry’s is there for the kind of food you linger over with the bottle you probably shouldn’t have ordered, then backgammon, a nightcap and off to bed.
Come for a night or two or stay for Christmas or New Year. However you spend the holidays, spend some of them here with us.
Four days, beautifully planned. Every meal and festive moment is included. Join in as much or as little as you like.

A warm welcome. Arrive to freshly baked mince pies, brandy butter and tea in the Sitting Room, then settle in for dinner at Harry’s.

Beach walks and the snug. A leisurely breakfast, time for long walks on the beach and a lazy afternoon in the snug, then our special Christmas Eve menu.

Champagne and the feast. Start with a champagne breakfast, then champagne and canapés before our three-course Christmas lunch. Board games by the fire, and a supper tray whenever you’re ready.

Stretch and say goodbye. A morning yoga class to shake off the feasting, then one last Gallivant breakfast before you head home.
Choose your room. Rates are for the room, for two people sharing, for all three nights, and include everything in the house party.
Bringing your dog? Smaller dogs are welcome in three of our rooms – mention it when you book and we’ll make sure you’re in one of them.
Crisp walks on an empty beach. Miles of sand on the doorstep, big winter skies and a fire waiting for you when you get back. Yoga on Boxing Day morning to set you right.
Two nights to see the year in. Wednesday 30 December to Friday 1 January. Champagne, a live piano, dinner at Harry’s and fireworks on the terrace at midnight.

Arrive and unwind. Freshly baked cake and tea when you arrive, an aperitif before dinner, then a leisurely dinner at Harry’s.

Champagne, piano and fireworks. A gentle start, then champagne and canapés with our pianist, a four-course dinner at Harry’s and a midnight toast on the terrace.

A slow start to the year. A restorative class for the strong, one last Gallivant breakfast and fond farewells.
