A Happy Christmas by the sea

WEDNESDAY 23rd to FRIDAY 26th DECEMBER

You are invited to our Christmas House Party by the sea.

We’ve created the perfect festive retreat – imagine crisp December days filled with invigorating walks along our pristine beach followed by cosy evenings of games and conversation beside our roaring log fire.  As twilight falls, craft cocktails await, and intimate dinners in our acclaimed restaurant, Harry’s.

Chef Matthew’s exceptional festive menus celebrate the season, each course thoughtfully paired with fine and rare wines, concluding with moreish digestifs to make every evening truly memorable.

Upon arrival on the 23rd, we’ll welcome you to The Gallivant with freshly baked mince pies, brandy butter and tea in the Sitting Room, before you enjoy an à la carte dinner in Harry’s.

Christmas Eve brings a leisurely Gallivant breakfast, time for long beach walks, and relaxation in our snug. We’ll serve Christmas cake and tea in the afternoon, followed by our special Christmas Eve menu at Harry’s.

For Christmas Day, we’re serving a champagne breakfast to start your celebrations, followed by more champagne and canapés before our three-course Christmas lunch. The afternoon offers Christmas cake, tea, and board games in the Sitting Room. Later, we’ll provide a Christmas supper tray for you to enjoy wherever you wish.

On Boxing Day, join us for a morning yoga class before your final Gallivant breakfast.

We’ve attended to every detail to ensure your Christmas with us will be both relaxing and memorable.

Warmest thanks to all the team. My husband and I had been planning to come to the Gallivant anyway, but hit on a different plan when a very dear friend of ours, who's near the end of her life with jaw cancer, said she'd love nothing so much as some time by the sea. I spoke on the 'phone to Agnes to see if it would be possible to accommodate our friend's very restricted diet. Some hotels might have baulked at this point, or said 'OK' with little enthusiasm. But after checking with the chef, Agnes came back to say they'd be happy to oblige. In fact, the kitchen team rose to the challenge brilliantly, with all sorts of creative ideas and concoctions which really lifted our friend's spirits and nourished her. The serving staff too were always cheerful, helpful and accommodating – reception staff similarly. I can only name Anna, Gareth, Elton, Jamie and Paul B – and Corey on reception – but I'm aware we owe our thanks to a wider team as well, not least the bedroom staff. All went over and beyond what we might have hoped for: cheerful, diplomatic, flexible and accommodating at every turn. It was a challenge which you all rose to brilliantly.

We are members and love the hotel . We decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay . If this had been the very first time we had been to …

We are members and love the hotel . We decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay . If this had been the very first time we had been to the hotel we would have fallen in love with it exactly the same as we did 6 years ago when we first visited. The staff are wonderful and are perfectly matched to the calming & caring atmosphere of the place. The food is always seasonal, interesting & delicious.

Thank you for another lovely stay and for upgrading our room. all the Gallivant team were great and our special thanks to Anna & Elton and Crystal and Corey who made our stay special.

We very much enjoyed the food and would suggest that at breakfast a couple of more conventional hot dishes be included.

We look forward to our next stay.
